Over 20 Ghanaian businesses and companies are set to be honoured at this year’s maiden National Platinum Excellence Awards in Accra.
The event which was launched in Accra on Wednesday, 1st July, 2026 is aimed at celebrating visionary entrepreneurs, pioneering institutions, resilient brands, and enduring companies that have survived for decades while contributing significantly to national growth.
Addressing the media at the main launch, the CEO of Re-Focus Experience Ghana Limited, Nii Saka Brown, says the Ghana Platinum Excellence Awards seeks to identify, document, celebrate, and learn from these organizations.
“The Ghana Platinum Excellence Awards presents a unique opportunity to celebrate Ghana’s corporate heritage, promote a culture of sustainability and long-term thinking, inspire entrepreneurs to build businesses that endure, encourage strong governance and succession planning, and showcase Ghana’s business success stories,” he states.
The CEO added that the awards also seek to preserve important aspects of Ghana’s economic history and position Ghana as a leader in celebrating corporate longevity and institutional excellence.
“These organizations are weathering political transitions, economic downturns, technological disruptions, leadership changes, and evolving market conditions. They continue to create jobs, generate wealth, support communities, and drive Ghana’s socio-economic transformation,”
According to him, businesses fail to survive after establishment due to factors including poor management and weak succession planning. He notes that many promising businesses disappear, taking with them valuable lessons, jobs, and economic opportunities, while others have impacted successfully despite the challenges.
“Some organizations have survived for over 40, 50, 75, and even 100 years. These institutions have demonstrated remarkable resilience and offer valuable lessons for today’s entrepreneurs and future business leaders.”
Mr. Yaw Sakyi, CEO of Delish Restaurant also called on corporate entities to rally behind the flagship event. He mentioned that, the significance of the awards will play major roles, and have positive impacts on Ghanaian indigenous businesses across the country.
As part of the awards, the organisers disclosed that nominations, vetting, and other measures aimed at ensuring successful hosting have been outlined.
