The Egyptian FA (EFA) will suspend all football activities in the country until the end of May, following the government’s decision to extend the enforced curfew.

Like most countries, Egypt has suspended all sports related events for almost two months now due to the global coronavirus pandemic.

Now as the country continues to witness an increase in its cases with over 7,000 confirmed cases and almost 400 deaths, the government has decided to extend the enforced curfew on its citizens from 9PM to 6AM.

And in line with this decision, the EFA have decided to prolong the suspension of all football activities -for the fourth time- until the end of May.

This also comes four days after Egypt’s football governing body met with the Egyptian Sports and Youth minister Ashraf Sobhi to discuss the resolution of how football will be continued after the COVID-19 outbreak.

The EFA have already revealed that they aren’t planning on cancelling the Egyptian Premier League. And board member, Mohamed Fadl, even revealed that they’re prepared to continue the league at anytime.
