The Ghana Baseball and Softball Federation ( GBSF ) has suspended its activities following the outbreak of the deadly COVID-19.
A statement signed by the president, Mr. Albert K. Frimpong on Tuesday 17th March, 2020 and sighted by amaniefm.com stated that,
“Following the outbreak of the COVID-19 and subsequently being declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization. The Ghana Baseball and Softball Federation (GBSF) has been monitoring the spread of the disease and it’s severe extensive damage to all human life around the globe.
“In view of the Government of Ghana’s directive, Ghana Health Services caution on the outbreak and in agreement with the World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC), the Executive body of Ghana Baseball and Softball Federation in response to the outbreak has suspended all Baseball and Softball activities in Ghana until further notice”. The statement said.
“Meanwhile anyone interested in picking a nomination form can do so at the GBSF secretariat, the office will be open for work”.
“After the period stated by H.E. the president of Ghana, we shall know the next line of action to take”.
“Let us all stay and alive. Our families need us as well as the nation. No life is worth loosing so let us all stand united in the face of this pandemic”. The statement added.
The president finally urged it members and stakeholders to take precaution, stay safe and remember it still game time.
The Federation has opened it nomination forms from Monday 16th and will end on Thursday 26th March, 2020.
