The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has begun its mid-year performance review to assess activities undertaken from the beginning of the year.

The exercise, which started on Monday, August 15, 2022 is expected to end on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

By the end of the exercise, all the 19 Departments and units in the hospital would have made presentations on the extent of implementation of their planned Programme of Work (POW). This would include their training and procurement plans, as well as the performance of key indicators, highlighting lessons learnt and what the outlook is for the remaining months of 2022.

The 2022 performance review is under the theme:
Effective Planning, Implementation And Information Management For Better Health Outcomes.

The Central Management Support Teams, Peer Reviewers and staff are expected to be in attendance at the sessions. The peer reviewers will subsequently validate the data presented to ensure its quality.

The Policy Planning Monitoring and Evaluation Unit of the hospital is guiding the entire process.

The Hospital’s Chief Executive Officer,
Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah, on Thursday, August 18, 2022 visited some Departments undergoing their review and validation exercise to witness first-hand proceedings.

Dr Ampomah was happy with the active participation shown by staff and peer reviewers.

He noted that the consistent realisation of set performance targets by all Departments and Units, including the Centres of Excellences will elevate Korle Bu to the level of true excellence and a hub for quality medical care, training and research.

Staff at the various departments and units have also shown enthusiasm and effort to ensure that they come out on top of the league table with respect to completeness and accuracy of their data.
