Sensational Emmanuel Ofori and Vida Asare of the New Juaben Table Tennis Club (NJTTC) in Eastern Region has successfully completed a six month training from the Ghana Armed Forces.

Emmanuel Ofori played vital roles both at the national and club level with more laurels added to his name.

Emmanuel Ofori was one of the players selected for the trials ahead of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games but his inexperience and lack of exposure denied him the opportunity to make the final list for Ghana to Australia.

He was also able to defend and retain the D.G Hathramani U18 boys title championship in 2016 at the Accra sports stadium.

Ofori once defeated Derek Abrefa to clinch the first price at the chairman’s cup held at the Accra Sports Stadium in 2019.

He also placed second at the last Eastern Top 8 championship held in Koforidua in July last year.

At the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Africa Youth, Junior and Cadet Championship held in Ghana, Emmanuel Ofori with his much experience defeated Egyptian Omar Gamal 3-0 in the Under-21 team event.

Young and talented Vida Asare on the other hand has made important marks at her club and national level.

Vida Asare was part of the squad that participated at the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Africa Youth, Junior and Cadet Championship at the Bukom Sports Emporium in Accra.

She played alongside Judith Acheampong, Yaa Kyerewaa of Asoba Foundation, Belinda Dei-Sam and Augustina Baidoo.

Emmanuel Ofori and Vida Asare would represent the Ghana Armed Forces at the upcoming national table tennis league for the upcoming seasons.
